WORK EXPERIENCE -
As a junior at the University of Kentucky, I currently hold positions as the UK men’s lacrosse play-by-play commentator, SEC Network student production crew member and a senior sports reporter for the Kentucky Kernel as well as a podcast co-host for Kernel at the Buzzer. Outside of multimedia journalism, I also work as a fine dining server at Apiary Fine Catering & Events.

I report on athletes and teams for an award-winning publication at the University of Kentucky, covering sports like hockey, lacrosse, tennis, gymnastics, boxing, rugby, and baseball. With a focus on both primary coverage and feature stories, I strive to deliver engaging, well-researched content. A two-time recipient of the KPA General Excellence Award, I’m committed to producing high-quality journalism that resonates with readers.

I co-host the weekly show Kernel at the Buzzer, where we discuss University of Kentucky sports with reporters from various publications. My role also involves creating graphics and editing video content for distribution across multiple platforms, producing both long-form and short-form material. This experience allows me to combine my passion for sports journalism with multimedia production skills.

I work in various control rooms and in-venue for SEC Network shows at the University of Kentucky, taking on roles such as utility, assistant director, camera operator, instant replay operator, show control, and video board operator. This hands-on experience allows me to support the production team and contribute to the seamless execution of live broadcasts. My work across multiple positions has strengthened my understanding of the technical side of sports media.

I provide play-by-play commentary for the University of Kentucky men's lacrosse team broadcasts, delivering an engaging and informative experience for viewers. My role involves thorough research on team and player statistics, histories, and other relevant details to ensure accurate and captivating commentary. I prepare comprehensive notes to support the broadcast, ensuring all information is both factual and entertaining.

Working in fine dining has taught me how to stay composed under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities, and deliver exceptional service—skills that directly apply to the fast-paced world of sports media. Just like in live sports production, clear communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential for creating a smooth and engaging experience. This role has strengthened my ability to adapt quickly, solve problems on the fly, and maintain professionalism in high-stress environments.

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Journalism at the University of Kentucky, set to graduate in 2026. Alongside my major, I’m earning a minor in Jewish Studies and an undergraduate certificate in Sport Communication, Media, and Promotion. This combination of coursework has given me a well-rounded understanding of the sports industry, media production, and cultural perspectives, while equipping me with the technical skills and theoretical knowledge essential for a career in sports media. My education has been complemented by hands-on experience in live production, reporting, and content creation, allowing me to apply what I’ve learned in real-world settings.

In both of my roles with the SEC Network and men’s lacrosse team, I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience in live sports production. Whether I’m working as an assistant director, camera operator, instant replay operator, video board operator or play-byplay-commentator I’ve learned how to manage the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of live broadcasts. I take pride in my ability to capture and deliver high-quality visual content that enhances the viewing experience and brings the excitement of the game to audiences in real time.

For UK Men’s Lacrosse, I design custom overlays and score bugs, ensuring that live games have a polished, professional look that keeps viewers engaged and informed. Additionally, for the Kernel at the Buzzer podcast, I create all background graphics and visual templates, establishing a consistent and recognizable brand across multimedia platforms. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong eye for design, an understanding of audience engagement, and the ability to balance creativity with functionality under tight deadlines.

Through my work, I’ve developed the ability to collaborate with production teams, interview subjects, and fellow media members, making sure every story I tell captures both the action and the emotion behind the game.

This technical expertise allows me to blend creativity with storytelling, ensuring my work is polished, engaging, and aligned with the fast-paced demands of sports media.
